Healthwatch Thurrock hosted successful 'Care for Carers' event

Last week Healthwatch Thurrock invited local carers and their loved one to join us for lunch and a focus group session to discuss their support locally.

We listened to what currently works well for them and what they'd like to improve. We met some incredible people and felt so fortunate to be spending the day with them. We were joined on the day by Councillor Mark Hooper. He is the current portfolio holder for Health and Social Care and he will be chairing the Thurrock Health and Wellbeing Board. He was able to meet with the carers and hear their views in person.

Many people used this opportunity to complete our new Unpaid Carers Survey, which we were very grateful for. These discussions and survey responses will go towards building on co-produced support services.
