Healthwatch Thurrock visits Thurrock’s new Lung Health Check Unit
I was so impressed with the setup of the Tilbury lung check facility, the location of the unit is so easily accessible to residents - even for those travelling by bus! We’re strongly encouraging anyone that receives an invite for their lung health check to please attend – it’s so important.
Anyone who has had a virtual lung health check and meets the criteria will be invited for a low dose CT scan. Lung health checks are being offered in your area to people aged from 55 to less than 75 who smoke or used to smoke.
These Lung Health Checks enable people who are at a higher risk of lung conditions to be tested using diagnostic imaging for lung cancer and other respiratory conditions at a much earlier and more treatable stage.
